+ What is Electronic Notarization (eNotary)?

Electronic notarization (eNotarization) includes all of the elements of, and provides the same function as, a paper notarization except the document being notarized is digital and the Notary uses an eSignature.

All of the other elements of a traditional, paper notarization remain, including the requirement for the signer to physically appear before the Notary.

+ What are the benefits of Electronic Notarization versus traditional paper based notarization's?

  • Offers a convenient way to sign documents

  • Provides a higher level of security than paper-based notarization's (e-notarized documents can be encrypted: whereas, a paper based notarization cannot).

  • Creates new efficiencies in processes and systems (An electronic document can be instantly sent to the party requesting it).

  • Helps businesses “go green” by eliminating the need to print and store paper documents

  • Decreases the time needed to complete notarization tasks

  • Reduces errors such as omitted or illegible Notary seals

  • Achieves measurable cost savings (In the case of e-notarization's, businesses, individuals, and notaries all save on shipping costs, printing costs, storage costs, time spent organizing costs, and any other costs associated with dealing with paper).
